Kieryn and Eddie | An Autumn Wedding at Calabogie Peaks Resort
Kieryn and Eddie’s love story began as engineering classmates at the University of Waterloo. What started as a friendship over textbooks turned into something more during COVID, when they were both back home in Ottawa and went on their first picnic date. (Complete with cheese, crackers, and fuzzy peaches)!
A few years later, Eddie proposed at sunrise on a beach in Oahu. They celebrated the next chapter of their story with a beautiful Calabogie Peaks Resort wedding, surrounded by colourful fall leaves, mountain views, and tasteful autumn-inspired details.

It’s easy to see why Calabogie Peaks Resort is one of our favourite wedding venues near Ottawa. The resort offers everything from lakeside ceremony locations and panoramic mountain views to open fields, forest trails, and modern reception spaces. All within walking distance!!

A Private First Look at Calabogie Peaks Resort
Before the ceremony, Kieryn and Eddie shared a quiet first look on the resort’s picturesque island. Lined with pumpkins, the pathway created the perfect setting for an intimate moment together before the celebrations began.
With the vibrant fall colours surrounding them, we explored the property for portraits before guests arrived, capturing some quiet moments against the lake, trees, and mountain scenery.
A Fall Island Ceremony at Calabogie Peaks Resort
The ceremony took place on Calabogie Peaks’ beautiful island, where pumpkins lined the aisle for a subtle nod to the season. If you’re looking for elegant Halloween-inspired wedding ideas, this was a perfect example of incorporating autumn décor without overwhelming the natural beauty of the venue.
Kieryn chose to walk herself down the aisle before being joined by her grandfather for the final few steps, creating one of the most heartfelt moments of the day. Surrounded by colourful October foliage and stunning aerial views of the resort, it was the perfect setting for a relaxed wedding ceremony.
Golden Hour Portraits & Reception in the Black Donald Room
As golden hour arrived, we returned to the island before exploring the terrace and open field at the base of the Dickson Mountain ski hill. The warm evening light paired perfectly with the colourful autumn landscape. All of this created some of our favourite portraits from the day!
Guests enjoyed cocktail hour before heading into the beautifully decorated reception space (hosted in the Black Donald Room) for dinner. We even finished the night with a delightfully messy late night flat lay! The best weddings are the ones that are truly enjoyed.
