If I could rate more than 5 stars I would. My wife and I hired Calm & Collective after searching a long time for an inclusive photographer to shoot our wedding. As soon as we saw Calm & Collective's website we knew they were the right fit. Our experience with them has been nothing but amazing, the communication was wonderful and they made sure to cover everything we could want in our photography experience. We had Casey for our wedding and felt so at ease, like a friend was shooting our day. The photos were delivered on time and the sheer VOLUME of them was incredibly impressive. I can't believe how perfectly she captured us on our special day. Oh my goodness I’m in absolute shock. I can’t believe how perfectly every part of our day was captured. These photos are so stunning, I can’t say thank you enough.
But more than that, looking back at these brought back so many memories of the day and lots of those are about working with Casey and how wonderful she was at reading the vibes and matching our energy. I was honestly about to lose my mind after family photos and without me even saying anything, she swooped in, sent our family members off to the venue and gave us an extra 20 mins by ourselves that really saved my introvert self. (She also came in clutch with a spritz ready for me as soon as we got done our first dance and that also saved me haha.)

Casey was an amazing photographer for our wedding. She was so nice, accommodating, and down to run around downtown to many locations with us and our puppy! She captured everything we could have hoped for and more. The editing was beautiful and our photos were returned ahead of schedule. Frequently Asked Questions
Where are you located?
We are located in Ottawa, Ontario. Even though Ottawa is our home base, we do travel outside of Ottawa for wedding days.
Do you charge travel fees?
It all depends where we’re going. If your wedding is within the Ottawa area, then no, we do not charge travel fees. If your wedding is outside the Ottawa area, then yes, we will charge for travel time (cost of driving). If your wedding is over 2 hours away from Ottawa, we will charge for overnight accommodation, in addition to travel time. If your wedding falls outside of any of these, get in touch and we’ll chat!
It's our first time hiring a photographer - how does this work?
First, you’re in the right place. You want a photographer that you can completely trust and be comfortable with. After all, you’ll be spending a lot of time with them on your wedding day. Fill out our contact form, we’ll be in touch and we’ve got you covered from there!
You have multiple photographers at The Collective, can we choose our own photographer?
You can absolutely share your preference of who you would prefer to work with! It all comes down to availability and if your preferred photographer is available for your day, we’re happy to match you up.
Do you work with videographers?
Absolutely, we do! Photography and videography tell the story of your day and it’s important that they mesh well together. We’ve had the pleasure of working with some incredibly talented videographers so if you’re looking for recommendations, let us know!

Using our individual strengths, we’ve banded together to share our knowledge with one another to deliver an exceptional client experience to every single couple we work with. We pride ourselves in our ability to figure out exactly what you need, and then exceed your expectations.
As a collective, we work hard to ensure each and every client receives the highest quality images. Using top of the line gear, each wedding is shot and edited consistently in our signature style (so what you see is what you get).
And lastly, you’ll never have to worry about your photographer dropping out last minute due to illness or accidents. Being the team that we are, we provide redundancy and peace of mind so you know you’ll be covered no matter what life throws at [any] of us. We gotchu. And that’s something not many photographers can guarantee.
Do we need a second photographer?
We recommend a second photographer if your wedding is more than 150 guests or if there’s a point in your schedule that requires photos being taken in two places at once.
When should we book our photographer?
As soon as possible. The earlier the better. Why not now? Our photographers get booked up about 15 months in advance, on average. If you want to secure your date, we recommend booking early for all of your preferred vendors!
How does payment work?
There is a retainer fee paid at the time of booking to reserve your date. This is $1000, and it’s non-refundable. The remaining balance is split into two equal payments; one 4 months before the wedding, and the other 1 month before. Payment methods: credit card, e-transfer, or direct deposit bank transfer. *Please note we do not accept cash payments in exchange for any discounts.
